Custom Cakes Ringwood: Birthday and Wedding Cakes, Delivered

Ringwood is around ten kilometres east of our Burwood East studio, near the outer edge of our free delivery radius. Many Ringwood addresses fall inside it; those that do not start at a $30 fee, confirmed with you before the order is placed.

Bakeology Studios makes custom cakes to order — hand-decorated, built for a particular date, and not held in stock.

What Ringwood books

Ringwood and the Maroondah corridor send us a different mix to the inner east: more weddings, more engagement parties, and more of the big family birthdays where three generations are in the room. It is a part of Melbourne where people tend to plan further ahead, which suits how we work.

Wedding cakes start at $450 and are best booked twelve to eighteen months out. A two-tier celebration cake starts at $450, a three-tier at $800 — worth knowing if you are weighing a small wedding cake against a large celebration cake, because the difference is often smaller than people assume.

Delivery and collection

We deliver seven days a week across greater Melbourne, with a $90 minimum order on delivered cakes. Free within ten kilometres of Burwood East; beyond that the bands run $30, $45, $55, $65, $75 and $85 by distance. Send your address with the enquiry and we will confirm the exact figure.

Pickup from the studio is free, seven days, 7am to 10pm. Ringwood to Burwood East is a straightforward drive along Canterbury Road, and plenty of customers prefer to collect so they control the last leg themselves.

If you are collecting

Keep the box flat on the boot floor. Cool the car before loading on a warm day. Take corners as though there is a full cup of tea on the dash, because functionally there is.

How far ahead to order

Two days is the minimum on any cake. For a weekend, order by Thursday 10pm. Custom designs drawn from scratch need two to four weeks — that time goes into sketching, sourcing and a test bake, not into a queue.

Sizes, prices, servings

Five-inch from $165 serves ten to fifteen. Six-inch from $220 serves fifteen to twenty-five and is the size most people choose. Seven-inch from $260. Eight-inch from $350, tall from $395. Two tiers from $450. Three tiers from $800.

Flavours

Classic vanilla, classic chocolate and chocolate coffee sponges. Vanilla and chocolate fillings are included. Premium fillings — raspberry compote, fresh strawberry, salted caramel, chocolate ganache, cookies and cream, Biscoff — add $15 to $30.

We do not offer eggless, gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan cakes. Nuts are not used as a listed ingredient, though traces are possible.

Questions we get from Ringwood

Is delivery to Ringwood free?

It depends on the street. Ringwood straddles the edge of our free ten-kilometre zone, so some addresses are free and others start at $30. We confirm the exact figure with you before the order is placed.

Can you deliver to a wedding venue rather than a house?

Yes, and for weddings we usually prefer it. Venue delivery means the cake is set down once, by us, on the surface it will be photographed on. Give us the venue contact and the time the room is accessible.

How far ahead should I book a wedding cake?

Twelve to eighteen months. That sounds excessive until you realise weekends book first and a wedding cake involves tastings, a design conversation and a structural plan. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway — dates do come free.

What is the difference between a two-tier wedding cake and a two-tier celebration cake?

Mostly the finish and the conversation around it. Wedding cakes start at $450 and include the design consultation; a two-tier celebration cake starts at $450 and is ordered much like any other cake. For a small wedding, either can be the right answer.
