Birthday Cakes Box Hill: Free Delivery From Our Burwood East Studio

Box Hill is about five kilometres from our studio in Burwood East — a ten-minute drive up Middleborough Road on a quiet morning. It is one of the suburbs we deliver to most often, and comfortably inside our free ten-kilometre delivery radius.

Bakeology Studios is a small custom cake studio, not a shopfront bakery. Every cake is made to order, decorated by hand, and built for one particular birthday rather than pulled from a cabinet.

What Box Hill orders

Box Hill birthdays tend to be large and multigenerational — grandparents, cousins, family friends, all in one room. That shapes what gets ordered. We see more six and seven-inch cakes here than five-inch, and more requests for a design that reads well in photographs from across a table.

The Vintage Edit does particularly well for these. Lambeth piping — those layered ruffles and scalloped borders — photographs beautifully and suits a milestone. penny starts at $200, lola at $235 and isolde at $275. They look like something from a much older tradition, because they more or less are.

For children's parties, the Junior Edit runs from lila at $180 up to sculpted work like iris at $365. blue, our dinosaur cake, is $285 and has been to more Box Hill fifth birthdays than we can count.

Delivery to Box Hill

Delivery is free. Box Hill sits well within the free ten-kilometre radius, so there is no fee to calculate and no surprise at checkout — only the $90 minimum order that applies to all delivered cakes.

We deliver seven days. If you would rather collect, the studio is open for pickup 7am to 10pm, every day, and Box Hill to Burwood East is a short enough run that the cake will not notice.

Getting the cake to the party in one piece

If you are collecting and then driving on, a few things genuinely help. Keep the box flat on the boot floor, not on a seat. Do not put it in the footwell behind a heater vent. If the day is warm, run the air conditioning before you load it. Buttercream is stable but it is still butter.

When to order

The minimum is two days. For a weekend birthday, get your order in by Thursday 10pm — that is when the weekend closes. If you want something fully custom, sketched from scratch rather than adapted from an existing design, allow two to four weeks.

Sizes and what they feed

A five-inch cake starts at $165 and serves ten to fifteen. A six-inch starts at $220 and serves fifteen to twenty-five — that is the one most Box Hill families land on. Seven-inch starts at $260, eight-inch at $350, and a two-tier at $450. For a bigger room, a three-tier starts at $800.

Flavours

Three sponges: classic vanilla, classic chocolate, and chocolate coffee. Vanilla and chocolate fillings are included. Raspberry compote, fresh strawberry, salted caramel, chocolate ganache, cookies and cream, and Biscoff are premium fillings at $15 to $30.

We do not make eggless, gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan cakes. If someone at the party needs one of those, we would rather tell you now than have you find out on the day.
